Leslyn L. Henry here. I’m an Oakland native, the eldest of three children raised in the Lakeshore/Crocker Highlands area where my parents still reside.
Before starting in real estate I was a career counselor for the Oakland Unified School District, after graduating from San Francisco State and earning my graduate degree in Counseling from Saint Mary’s College in Moraga. I’m a classic “people person”. I immediately tune in to what others need, and I feel a strong sense of community. Understanding what clients are looking for when they buy or sell a home is second nature to me. And knowing this area as well as I do, having neighborhood expertise, and being on top of the ins and outs of cultural opportunities, I am able to provide great service to my clients.
In my 30+ years of buying and selling real estate, I have cultivated long-standing trusted partnerships with a vast network of professionals: lenders, stagers, contractors, landscape gardeners, interior designers, and painters. I bring a comprehensive vetted referral list to all my transactions.
During my free time, I like to hang out with family and friends, garden, or travel. Tahoe Donner in Truckee, CA is one of my favorite getaways any time of year, but closer to home you’ll find me at Lake Merritt in Oakland. It’s my Bay Area destination for walking. It’s so beautiful, especially at night, and the sounds and sights are fantastic.
I’m a proud member of the Zonta Club of Berkeley/North Bay and have held various board positions there over the years. Zonta is an international service organization focused on advancing the political, economic, social, and educational status of women worldwide. Working and volunteering to be of service to people inspires me, and that’s part of why I so enjoy what I do.
I love working in a boutique real estate company that has a strong, knowledgeable, charitable leader, Danny Winkler, and a supportive, happy, and loyal staff and Realtor professionals. We are the DWA family! I look forward to meeting you.
